As an UnderwritingAnalyst, you will evaluate and assess health risk for employer groupsand individuals, applying medical knowledge and financial analysis todetermine eligibility, pricing, and coverage terms. This role requiresstrong analytical skills, deep understanding of medical terminology, andproficiency in risk modeling for level-funded health plans. Starting salary based uponskills and experience: $55,300 - $69,200 plus robust benefits packageResponsibilities Risk Assessment & Pricing Review insurance applicationsand apply medical terminology to analyze risk exposure. Quantify risksfor level-funded products and calculate quotes and renewal rates usingrating formulas, tools, and methodologies; validate accuracy of finalrates and packaging. Apply sound underwriting judgment to maintain aprofitable book of business while ensuring compliance with companypolicies and regulations. Data Analysis & Reporting Perform underwritingfinancial analysis, proposal generation, and ad hoc analytics for newand renewing groups. Interpret benefit plan designs and assess impact onpricing. Compile and analyze data to identify trends and patterns inrisk and claims; prepare detailed reports for senior leadership. Explainrate changes and underwriting decisions to internal and externalstakeholders. Collaboration & Communication Act as a subject matterexpert in underwriting across cross-functional initiatives.
