JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Purpose The Solar and EV Maintenance Engineerensures the reliable operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management ofMGE's solar generation facilities and electric vehicle (EV) charginginfrastructure. This role provides technical expertise, vendoroversight, and cross-departmental coordination to support safe,efficient, and customer-focused deployment of distributed energyresources (DERs). The engineer plays a key role in advancing MGE'sclean energy and electrification strategies by maintaininghigh-performance renewable and electrification assets. CoreResponsibilities Note: This is not an all-inclusive listing. Manageday-to-day operations, monitoring, and maintenance of MGE-owned solararrays and EV charging infrastructure. Lead troubleshooting and rootcause analysis across electrical, mechanical, and digital controlsystems. Oversee vendor and contractor performance, including serviceagreements, construction, and maintenance partners. Track equipmentinventory, parts procurement, and maintenance documentation. Develop andimplement preventative maintenance schedules, emergency responseprocedures, EV and PV standards, and preventative and correctivemaintenance procedures. Serve as backup for wind turbine maintenanceengineering responsibilities as needed. Ensure compliance with allsafety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Provide technicalguidance to internal teams, including Customer Experience, EnergyServices, and Operations. Collaborate with engineering, grid operations,and energy supply teams to coordinate system outages, asset upgrades,and performance reporting. Contribute to the continuous improvement ofasset management practices and DER integration strategies.
