Position Information Job Title Health Care Ancillaries, Phlebotomy-Adjunct Instructor Classification Title Department Vocational Nursing Rank Adjunct Instructor Tenure Information Non-Tenure Track Summary In supporting the mission of Lassen Community College, a part-time instructor applicant pool has been established to provide highly qualified instructors who are experts in their subject areas, who are skilled in teaching and serving the needs of a varied student population, who can foster overall college effectiveness, and who are sensitive to and themselves represent the racial and cultural diversity of the District community. Supplemental Minimum Salary Maximum Salary Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications can be found in the Lassen Community College Minimum Qualification Handbook.The standard minimum qualifications for any instruction/coordination of health care ancillaries on this list is; any bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, directly related to the faculty member’s assignment or any associate degree and six years of professional experience, directly related to the faculty member’s assignment and appropriate license or certification to practice in California.Some positions on this list have additional requirements based in part upon the requirements of external regulatory bodies. See position specific requirements listed below;Phlebotomy Instructor: See “standard minimum qualifications” detailed at the beginning of this list, in addition to which applicant must meet the following; (1) Licensed physician and surgeon; or(2) Licensed physician assistant; or(3) Registered nurse; or(4) Respiratory care practitioner with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the previous 5 years; or(5) Certified phlebotomy technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the previous 5 years or a phlebotomist with 3 years of experience in the previous 5 years and employed as a phlebotomy instructor, who shall meet certification requirements pursuant to Section 4(a)(4) of the California Code of Regulations on or before December , 3. Reference: California Code of Regulations, Title , Division 1, Chapter 2, Subchapter 1, Group 2, Article 2. Licenses and Certificates Essential Duties and Responsibilities Meeting with classes as scheduled by the Instructional Services Office. Teaching classes in accordance with the intent of the college catalog and with the objectives and content of the course outline of record. Providing a current syllabus which is consistent with the course outline of record to all students for each class. A course syllabus for each course taught shall be filed by the unit member with the Office of Instruction within one week of the first meeting of the class. Reviewing, in cooperation with other faculty in the same subject area, textbooks, workbooks, and other materials. Maintaining accurate and current records of student attendance and student achievement in accordance with District procedures. Reporting absences to the appropriate Dean. Submitting grade rosters to the Office of Admissions and Records within five (5) District business days after the last day of finals. All attendance rosters and other administrative forms must be properly completed as scheduled. Being accessible to students for purposes of problem solving and student retention and success.
