Job Description: The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at St. Joseph Hospital will set the vision and strategy for patient care, clinical services, and caregiver experience at the care site (nursing, physician, operations), along with providing clinical leadership and consultation to business divisions within the hospital (e.g., Finance, IT, Supply Chain). The CNO is also responsible for driving execution of region and enterprise strategic initiatives and key performance indicators to enable best-in-class performance in the core domains of safety, quality, patient experience, access, equity, engaged caregivers, stewardship, and growth. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Intermountain Health Board-approved goals. The annual salary for this role is $ 184k - $221 annually and as determined by years of executive level leadership experience. As St. Josephu2019s CNO, you will: + Direct the vision and strategy for hospital nursing operations in alignment with region and enterprise nursing operations. + In collaboration with region nursing leadership, the Hospital President, hospital leaders and the budget director, establish and approve capital and operating budgets to ensure sound financial management of clinical and business operations for the facility. + Develop and support implementation of shared goals. Analyze data trends and evaluate current and future tactics to deliver on KPIs and metrics. + Lead patient experience implementation efforts and ensure hospital patient quality and safety outcomes, including nursing sensitive indicators. + Ensure and drive standardization of clinical best practice, patient and caregiver safety, and quality. + Drive the culture of bedside caregiver empowerment and leadership accountability to drive best-in-class patient outcomes, caregiver safety, and caregiver engagement. + Operationalize the elements of the Nursing Professional Practice Model and collaborate closely with regional, market, and service line leaders to assure provision of safe, quality, efficient, and multidisciplinary care through effective, high-performing care models. + Improve clinical care by developing clinical partnerships across the market, region, and enterprise. + Partner with CMO and other key leaders to foster and enhance relationships between clinical support staff and physicians/APPs. + Demonstrate leadership behaviors that support the mission, vision, and values of the organization. + Embrace inclusion and belonging in leading and understanding all caregiversu2019 perspectives to meet Intermountain Healthu2019s goals. + Drive strategic collaboration with academic and community leaders. Masters required within 4 years of promotion. Either the bacheloru2019s or masteru2019s degree must be in nursing. Degree will be verified. + Colorado state nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse or the ability to obtain one prior to start date + Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers may be required depending on facility call protocol. + Progressive experience in nursing leadership. + Demonstrated outcomes in quality management, patient safety and experience, caregiver engagement and care management. + Experience in leading other clinical areas, partnering with physicians, developing clinical strategies, implementing operational plans and measuring/driving outcomes. + Demonstrated experience with change management and the ability to provide leadership in the adaptation and implementation of new processes and/or technology. Preferred Qualifications + Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). + Director level acute care leadership experience. + Experience leading a Magnet or Pathways designated organization. + Experience with performance improvement processes/tools (e.g., High Reliability Organization, Lean). + NE u2013 BC or NEA u2013 BC Certification Additional Skills Required + Knowledgeable in healthcare finance, including billing procedures, revenue cycles, budgeting, financial, analysis, and compliance. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and execute in a complex, matrixed environment. + Ability to listen, consider, and assimilate input from a wide range of constituents. u00b7 Solid influencing skills; capable of building consensus. + Exceptional critical thinking skills, coupled with the ability to prioritize and execute key business drivers. + Strong work ethic with the ability to deal with ambiguity in a professional and consistent manner. #LI-EXECRC Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. + Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc. + May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts. + For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
