Job Description

Working in the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center, under the supervision of the Director of the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center (TLIC), the Temporary Classroom and Events Audiovisual Equipment Technician operates, supports, and manages audio visual (AV) equipment on campus. This position is responsible for supporting audiovisual technology in classrooms and event spaces, including the setup, breakdown, and operation of microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, LED monitors, SmartTVs, SmartBoards, sound boards and related technical devices for sound and video functions. The position may include events to be held in evenings and weekends. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Set up and operate AV equipment for special events - Coordinates schedule of AV support coverage for TLIC for events both during and after business hours - Collaborate with IT staff and faculty to ensure classroom technology is operational and optimized for teaching and learning needs, provides hands-on technical support in operation of classroom technology - Supports users in the TLIC teaching/training lab spaces, including working with faculty and students - Assists with compilation of department goals and objectives MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: - A least two (2) years' experience operation of audio-visual/multimedia and educational technology devices - Demonstrated ability to operate AV equipment - Ability to respond to presenter and audience AV needs during events - Knowledge of educational technology systems including computers, projectors, cameras, microphones - Ability to collaborate with diverse groups in the college including faculty, students, IT professionals, trades professional, staff, and administrators - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND APTITUDES: - Experience operating AV equipment in educational settings - Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language - Ability to operate various hand tools and to lift up to 40 lbs.
