Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Mechanical/Plumbing Inspector to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects. This role involves confirming compliance with project design and specifications, industry standards for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of mechanical installations while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing systems, confirming proper functionality and performanceInspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standardsReview contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specificationsIdentify, document and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actionsConduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage complianceImmediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life-threatening safety conditionsMaintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance trackingOversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeoutsWitness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-upsVerify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specificationsQualificationsMinimum Requirements:BA/BS in Construction, Electrical engineering + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience with local and national codesExperience with construction methods and techniquesPreferred Requirements:Eight (8) years building construction experience with emphasis on Quality Assurance/Quality Control with oversight responsibility for mechanical/HVAC, plumbing systemsExperience working on federal and high education managed construction projectsExperience in reviewing contractor shop drawings and submittalsExperience working in and around historic properties and occupied modernizations are desirableOSHA 10-hour training certificationCertified Construction Quality Manager for Contractors (CQM-C) preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office SoftwareExperience working with federal Project Management SystemsAdditional InformationSponsorship is not available for this positionRelocation is not available for this position About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
