Group Exercise Instructor - Yoga

Under the supervision of the Group Exercise Coordinator, the Group Exercise Instructor will instruct group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. The Group Exercise Instructor will provide a quality experience to members, participants, staff and others that focuses on the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility.This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goalsAnswer questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and wellness. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to membersBuild effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCAKeep accurate class attendance recordsEnsure a high level of customer service which enhances the member, program participant and guest experience and satisfactionConsistently provide friendly, courteous assistance, exceeding customer expectations every day which includes building and maintaining professional relationships with members, staff, and community partnersSupport and contribute to a safe and clean environment for staff and members by implementing and enforcing safety and cleaning proceduresResponsible for finding a substitute and communicating this information to the Group Exercise CoordinatorProvide exceptional customer service by greeting all participants, maintaining a clean and safe facility and demonstrating professional conduct at all timesResponds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely mannerAll other duties as requested Minimum of 1 year of group exercise teaching experience and certification or training in areas of expertiseThis person must treat everyone with courtesy, respect and consideration; display integrity; listen actively and genuinely; communicate in a clear and pleasant manner; embrace differences among people; demonstrate an active willingness to learn and grow; accept constructive criticism; and work cooperatively as a team memberCertifications: CPR/FA, within 30 days of hireMust regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally move up to seventy-five (75) pounds in the form of supplies or equipmentAble to sit, stand and bend to perform appropriate tasksMust be able to move at an appropriate pace to respond to emergenciesFollow all safety requirements of the Salina Family YMCAMay be required to stand for extended periods of timeWork in different temperature environmentsEmployee Assistance ProgramRetirement ContributionUSD $10.00 - USD $10.00 /Hr.
