Job Description

Direct managerial oversight of a residential site. Teach and support the people we support to make life choices and become active participants in every aspect of their lives.Direct management of daily operations for a residential site:Ongoing supervision of Assistant Manager and Direct Support Professionals to ensure that the people we support have the opportunity to a safe and quality life and that the site is efficiently runningImplement all OPWDD regulations as well as COMPASS, CQL and Agency`s specific policies and proceduresResponsible for adequate staffing by completing weekly staffing schedules in accordance with the site approved budget.Manage all operational budgets (overtime, FTEs, food/ nonfood, etc) by ensuring that all resources have been exhausted to remain within assigned budgetMaintain individuals` records and Agency required paperwork timely and in accordance to agency regulationsUpkeep individuals` bank accounts and all aspects of personal allowanceComplete time and attendance payroll system for all staff working at the siteMaintain staff support meetings/performance evaluations by observing and documenting staff good practices as well as issues related to time/ attendance, job performance, specific deficiencies, supervisory sessions and training certifications to ensure the ongoing and effective supervision of each employeeParticipate in the CLS program`s management on-call systemAttend management, cluster and individuals` related meetingsImplement and participate in transportation routes to get the individuals to their day programs/ work settingsEnsure compliance with all medical needs and appointments for the people we supportFoster an environment that teaches and assists the people we support to become active participants in every aspect of their lives (i.e., socialization, community access, self-care routines, health, safety, rights and responsibilities, site maintenance and overall wellbeing) and ensuring that high quality of life and optimal health are sustained.Promote a person- centered approach to benefit the people we supportTeach and assist with community access/ integration by providing meaningful activities/ social roles for the individualsActive participation in ISP/PHP/ team meetings to discuss individual`s progress/ needsConserve and promote the wellbeing and safety of each individual by: applying all treatment plans and guidelines, utilizing all required adaptive equipment and providing the needed level of supervision for individualConfer with RNs, clinicians, physicians and pharmacies by discussing the current medical status and/or health care needs of each individualPerform the responsibilities of a DSP whenever needed; teach and assist with all housekeeping tasks; whenever the individuals fall short to maintain their home, perform said tasks to ensure facilities meet agency standards.Uphold a professional working relationship with all agency employees, the families and outside vendors.Performs other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.High School diploma or equivalent required. Supervisory experience and a minimum of two (2) years experience working with developmentally delayed population required. Valid and qualified NYS Driver's License required. AMAP, SCIP-R and CPR certification required.Good oral and written communication skills required as well as good organizational and administrative skills.Physical Aspects: May include, but are not limited to, lifting and transferring of an adult participant.
