Payroll Analyst

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while addressing inquiries and maintaining compliance with regulations. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll operations and problem-solving capabilities. Responsibilities: u2022 Process payroll for small to medium-sized businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. u2022 Respond promptly to inquiries regarding payroll and provide clear, detailed explanations to employees and stakeholders. u2022 Utilize accounting software systems, including ADP and Ceridian, to manage payroll processes efficiently. u2022 Audit payroll data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures as needed. u2022 Collaborate with benefit functions to ensure proper deductions and contributions are applied. u2022 Leverage tools such as ServiceNow to streamline payroll-related workflows and communications. u2022 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations, including those specific to higher education or government sectors. u2022 Demonstrate initiative and independence in solving payroll-related challenges and improving existing processes. u2022 Partner with cross-functional teams to support automated payroll systems and enhance operational efficiency. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training. u2022 At least 1 year of experience in payroll or finance operations. u2022 Proven experience processing payroll for small to medium-sized businesses. u2022 Ability to handle payroll inquiries with clarity and professionalism. u2022 Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in payroll-related matters. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software systems such as ADP, Ceridian, and other tools. u2022 Preferred experience in payroll operations within higher education or government sectors. u2022 Proficiency in auditing payroll data and ensuring compliance with regulations.
