Senior Network Engineer

Description All candidate must have a current Active Secret Clearance to be considered for this position All candidates must be located near one of these three locations to be considered for this role Pearl Harbor Navy base (preference), Bremerton, WA or Whidbey Island, WA. Job Description This individual will be working primarily remote, but the customer requires the consultant to be able to have access to SIPR. This individual will be part of the SRE organization and will act as a Network SME for this product team. There are several product teams and each one of them has a Senior Network Engineer to act as a SME as project get assigned to them. Our current decided to put his notice in so we are backfilling him. JOB DUTIES u2022 The Network Engineer will obtain requirements from the Leidos Network Architect and translate them into network (router and switch) configurations. u2022 Then the engineer will put together a test plan for the configuration they designed u2022 Along the way the engineer will verify that the solution they design will meet all of the requirements outlined by the architect u2022 The whole time, this engineer will need to collaborate with other groups within Leidos (for instance the Information Assurance, network security teams) to make sure the solution meets security standards u2022 The engineer will also be responsible for a lot of documentation along the path to getting the solution approved. This approval can often times be very tedious and complicated with a lot of red-tape and documentation required by the Navy customer. Top Skills' Details 1. Strong Knowledge - routing protocols BGP and OSPF 2. Design and trouble shooting with Cisco routing and switching 3. Design of Cisco products in a DOD environment 4. Active Secret Clearance 5. Must have IAT III certification (Will find out from customer if they are going to allow time to attain cert after starting) Skills Firewall, CCNP certification, Clearance, Cisco switches, Cisco routers, Troubleshooting, automation, BGP, OSPF, Network engineering, Wan, Data center Additional Skills & Qualifications SKILLS REQUIRED u2022 Security+ CE, and IAT III certification acquired with in 6 months (need to verify with manager) u2022 Minimum Secret Clearance u2022 Strong Cisco router and switch engineering and configuration experience (experience level should be equivalent to a CCNP level) u2022 Strong understanding of OSI layers II and III u2022 Strong understanding of Transport Boundary System design and System interfaces u2022 Expertise with routing protocols OSPF, BGP, u2022 Strong understanding of VPN u2022 Also should have strong Experience with Operations-oriented engineering & implementation strategies (i.e., production system will need to be functional in a transition-state for an extended period) u2022 Experience with Test Plan/Procedure documentation u2022 Experience with WAN edge design/engineering u2022 Experience with logical/virtual network segmentation techniques u2022 Strong Experience with Operations-oriented engineering & implementation strategies (i.e., production system will need to be functional in a transition-state for an extended period) u2022 Experience with Test Plan/Procedure documentation u2022 Strong Experience with dynamic IPSEC (e.g., GETVPN, FLEXVPN, DMVPN) - nice to have u2022 Technology dependencies (e.g., PKI, IKE) u2013 nice to have u2022 Experience with dynamic tunneling (e.g., Multi-point GRE) u2013 nice to have u2022 Intermediate understanding of MPLS u2013 nice to have u2022 Experience with DISA NETWORK/IA STIGS u2013 nice to have u2022 Familiarity with DODAF SE methodology and documentation requirements u2013 nice to have Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
