Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Adjunct faculty typically teach up to 9 contact hours per semester. • Teach undergraduate biology courses as assigned. • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts. • Evaluate and grade students’ class/lab work, assignments, and papers. • Collect and analyze data for program and university assessment. • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records. • Compile, administer, and grade examinations. • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. • Develop and use multimedia course materials and other current technology, such as online courses. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.• Previous successful work experience with culturally diverse populations a plus.• Cope effectively with adversity and demonstrate leadership skills that promote collegiality and cooperation.• Ability to use technology in instruction. Experience in curriculum and institutional assessment a plus.• Committed to values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Minimum Qualifications • Earned master’s degree in chemistry or related discipline is required. • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in the undergraduate classroom.
