The National Sales Specialist implements strategies to establish strong contractual agreements and develop superior relationships with key leaders at Dental Support Organizations and other large dental groups.Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. To request a reasonable accommodation, notify Human Resources or the manager who oversees the position.Have a primary focus to prospect and rapidly add new DSO customers to Patterson Dental.Collaborate and build relationships with local general managers, territory reps and specialists.Develops and maintains strong relationships DSO Customers at the C-Suite level.Partners closely with National Key Account Executive to transition, and maintain new customer relationships.Lead negotiations to acquire new businessExecute at a high level to on-board new customers in partnership with Patterson Dental team.Maintain relationship with customer key decision makers in partnership with National Account ExecutiveMaintaining accurate records for prospects, customer orders, sales records, and other financial activity.Partner with National Account Executive to develop and deliver annual customer reviewsOther duties related to the National Sales Specialist addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions. Organize and lead educational events and webinars and drive attendance.Job QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related major or equivalent experience and at least 5 years of proven sales experience in business-to-business sales modelExperience in or with the dental industryProficient understanding of sales principlesPossesses strong business acumenDemonstrated ability to lead sales support roles to achieve team quotas.Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data to drive business decisions.Demonstrated success in building and maintaining business/customer relationships.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam player with entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to try new ideas to achieve greater levels of successDemonstrated success working in an unstructured and entrepreneurial environment.Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver resultsSelf-motivated, persistent, and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a teamProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easilyValid driver’s license along with good driving record.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related major.Professional Sales Certification is highly desiredPhysical DemandsMust be able to remain in a stationary or driving position up to 100% per day.Must be able to move dental equipment weighing up to 50 pounds into place less than 5% per day.Ability to sit or stand while operating office equipment, such as a computer or telephone for 6-8 hours per dayAbility to work in an office environment either onsite or remotelyOperating a computer or other office device up to 8 hours per dayPosition involves frequent communication with customers, inside staff, etc. and requires ability to understand and effectively exchange accurate informationEnvironmental FactorsThis position requires traveling to customer locations and providing services and support to customers.MAY BE REMOTE. This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.Travel and On-Call100% travel to customer sites in a regional areaOccasionally out of town for overnight and/or after-hoursThis position is paid on a commission basis.
