Job Summary :The Laboratory Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test reports. The Lab Supervisor assists the leadership team with operational and administrative functions that facilitates excellent patient care, maintain laboratory functions, and ensures policies and procedures are feasible by making compliance is a key priority.Essential Functions:Hires and assist with onboarding top talent to create a work environment of diversity, professional growth, and continuous developmentEvaluates the competency of all testing personnel and assuring that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately and proficientlyEnsures that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properlyParticipates in committees, task forces, and improvement teams as definedEnsures all changes within the laboratory are sufficiently validated before implementationOther duties as assignedEducation:Associates Degree in Medical Technology, healthcare, or a related Science (preferred)Certifications:Phlebotomy Certification (preferred, not required)Experience:5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting (required)3 years phlebotomy experience (required if supervising Phlebotomy)Previous experience in a leadership position in a customer service environment (preferred, not required)Experience with EKG (preferred, not required)Skills & Abilities:Demonstrates leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, and decision makingPossesses extensive knowledge of clinical practice or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environmentMercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.As a associate, you’re part of a Misson that matters.
