Job Title: Construction Equipment Yard Worker ManagerSalary: $85,000 - $95,000 annually Full Job Description The Contractor Consultants are seeking a motivated and organized Yard Manager to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our yard. This role involves managing schedules, materials, inventory, and leading a team to ensure efficient and safe yard operations. The Yard Manager will play a key role in maintaining organization, supporting project needs, and ensuring smooth logistical operations. Who we are: Our opportunity is at a well known family-owned and operated electrical and underground utility contractor, specializing in the installation of traffic signal systems, street lighting, park and trail lighting systems, sports field and high mast lighting, airport lighting systems, and underground phone, cable, power feeders, and fiber optic systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Scheduling:Create schedules for the crew, considering time off requests, sick days, and training days.Plan and coordinate deliveries, pickups, and material drop-offs at job sites or satellite yards.Arrange for the drop-off and pickup of vehicles or machinery for repairs.Material Management:Ensure materials needed for jobs or requested by department heads are ordered and ready on time.Order materials such as safety equipment, tools, first aid supplies, stock materials, PVC materials, job materials, lumber, automotive fluids, chemicals, and wire.Track stock and supplies, ensuring a constant availability of materials.Verify and file paperwork for delivered materials, checking for municate with vendors to ensure the best pricing for anize job materials and supplies in the yard efficiently. Inventory Management:Inspect delivered inventory for damages before signing off.Verify, label, and organize materials into job crates and shelving areas.Maintain accurate records of packing slips and distribute scanned copies to relevant personnel.Team Leading:Conduct regular meetings to keep the team informed and on track for upcoming jobs.Enforce safety practices and ensure team members have and use necessary safety equipment.Provide counseling, coaching, and performance evaluations for team members.Conduct safety meetings and implement new safety protocols as needed. Invoice Management:Review, verify, and process invoices for orders.Maintain accurate records in the P.O. log and ensure timely processing and filing of invoices.Ordering:Place stock orders for items used on trucks and job sites.Order materials for upcoming jobs for electricians, underground, and yard crews.Make weekly orders for safety equipment for the crews. Closing Duties:Secure and lock all trucks, tools, wire, equipment, and materials at the end of the day.Ensure all areas, including Conex boxes, warehouse, and yard managers office, are locked.Place keys on the board in the main office and set the alarm before leaving. The ideal candidate should possess: Proven experience in yard management or a similar role in the Underground Electrical Traffic Signal industry Understanding and knowledge of the materials, parts, language, and world of the Underground Electrical Traffic Signal industry Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to lead and motivate a team.Excellent communication skills.Attention to detail and commitment to safety.Ability to work outside in the Las Vegas weather and heat. Ability to lift 90lbs+ and move materials, and work alongside Team. Proficiency in scheduling and inventory management.Basic understanding of maintenance and repair operations.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
