Shipping and Receiving Clerk Carlsbad, CA Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing packing and shipping duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role ensures the accuracy and security of packaged materials, processes shipments efficiently, and maintains a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities + Perform packing work according to written policies and procedures. + Verify materials picked for sales orders match the materials listed on the packing slip. + Review and follow all instructions noted in the packing instructions. + Package materials securely in designated cartons per department-established procedures. + Package all hazardous materials according to written policies and procedures. + Perform shipping work according to written policies and procedures. + Process shipments through ERP and shipping systems. + Verify shipping label accuracy and apply labels to cartons. + Apply all regulatory package labeling as required. + Stage orders for collection based on department procedures. + Troubleshoot and resolve shipment process errors. + Respond to customer support requests professionally and promptly. + Ensure quality and accuracy in work. + Report discrepancies to appropriate supervision. + Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures. + Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + 1 year of shipping and receiving experience. + Experience with FedEx, UPS, or DHL shipping systems preferred. + Ability to stand for long periods. + Dependability and excellent customer service skills. The second shift receives a 10% differential on their base offer. Overtime is mandatory during busy periods. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
