We are looking for candidates for Maintenance Machinist roles on the 1st shift. Compensation for this direct hire opportunity ranges between $33.08-$40.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more information! What You Will Do as a Maintenance Machinist:Machine and fit metal parts, tools, and machines with minimal supervisionWork with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsRead and interpret blueprints, sketches, schematics, and written specificationsSet up and operate a wide range of conventional and CNC machine toolsPerform precision machining operations requiring tight tolerances and unique requirementsDetermine machining sequences for each jobUse hand tools commonly used in machinist workAssess metal properties to select appropriate machining approachesDiagnose and repair mechanical failures such as gearboxes and leadscrewsMeasure and inspect work using precision measuring instrumentsFollow standard machine shop practices and safety protocolsPerform tasks as directed by the supervisor, including assignments in the same or lower pay gradeOperate a gas or electric forklift if certified and approved by the companyWhat You Need to Be a Maintenance Machinist:High school diploma or vocational school graduate (or equivalent)Two years of machine shop school education preferredAt least 10,000 hours of hands-on machine shop and maintenance trade experienceKnowledge of machining practices and mechanical principlesAbility to perform setups and operate tooling correctlyUnderstanding of shop math and material machinabilityProficiency in both conventional and CNC machining methodsSkilled in the use of standard machinist hand toolsAbility to work independently and carry out machining jobs to tight specificationsForklift certification (optional but beneficial if desired and approved)Add great experience to your resume with this role!
