EDM Operator

SummaryOperator will be responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of our EDM Sinkers. Utilize processes and tools to produce intricate parts and shapes with high-quality finishes within required specifications. Ensure conformance to specifications using company process. Complete all documentation required per company procedures.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInterpret specifications, including blueprints, models, and descriptions to set up tooling properlySet up the EDM machines appropriately according to specificationsProgram and utilize the EDM Sinker and oversee its operationUtilize proper methods to inspect EDM Sinker to ensure conformanceSet-up and operate production equipment to produce a product that meets internal and external customer requirementsFollow and continually monitor established safety procedures to assure a clean and safe work environment is promoted and maintained.Provide quality in all goods and services delivered to internal and external customers through an approach of thorough planning, responsible implementation, and continuous improvement.Understand & interpret prints, drawings & set up sheetsSet up & operate sinker EDM machinesInspect work & complete documentationMaintain quality control over the parts being EDM’dPerform necessary maintenance & clean equipmentQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Work ExperiencePrevious experience programming and operating EDM Sinkers preferredHave basic math skillsG D & T a plusTechnical Skills/Physical RequirementsExperience interpreting sketches, blueprints, or models in a manufacturing environmentAbility to modify, programming on EDM Sinker machinesAbility to inspect and verify conformance of machines to satisfy specificationsRelevant experience operating industrial mechanical equipmentLifting and transport of materials (20 - 40 lbs.)Ability to follow proceduresAbility to multi-task and run multiple machinesHave good communication skills & the ability to work well with othersAble to read micrometers, calipers, indicators & comparatorTravel not generally required
