Position Information Aspire Guides will help with the launch for high school juniors and seniors. High school students who are interested in future careers in education related fields have been invited to participate in SPED 110 to start out their college career with Minot State. Aspire Guides will help support and assist students as they adjust to the expectations of college level classes. Aspire guides will mentor 2-3 Aspire Academy participants by reaching out and hosting weekly meetings with participants. Guides will give students information about college-life and adjusting to the social and academic differences.There will also be a one day immersive experience on campus that Guides should attend to get to know their students and build connections. About the The Aspire Program for High School Students:Designed to help High School Juniors and Seniors explore future careers in education and find future amazing teachers for North Dakota.This opportunity is to have high school students get a head start on their career by taking a college course in education.Dual Credit SPED 110 Introduction to Exceptional Children - delivered online with tuition and materials paid! (This class is required for all education and communication sciences and disorders majors at MSU).Peer Mentors - Connect with current college students majoring in education1 Day immersive experience on campusDevelopment of an individualized pathway to a career in education. Preferred Qualifications Major in one of the following:Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Secondary Education Fields, Special Education, or Communication Sciences and DisordersHave completed SPED 110Be in good academic standing
