Accounts Receivable

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Garland, Texas. In this role, you will manage customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances while maintaining accurate records and resolving payment discrepancies. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to optimize processes and achieve collection goals. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage a portfolio of business-to-business customer accounts to ensure timely payments and minimize outstanding balances. u2022 Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments and unapplied cash, by working closely with the billing and cash application teams. u2022 Escalate unresolved collection issues to the appropriate supervisor for further action. u2022 Maintain detailed and accurate records of collection activities within the company's accounting system. u2022 Collaborate with sales and finance teams to address customer disputes and refine billing processes. u2022 Monitor customer payment behavior to evaluate credit risks and recommend adjustments to payment terms when necessary. u2022 Assist with month-end close procedures by reconciling accounts receivable balances and providing detailed reports on collection status. u2022 Contribute to team goals by managing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Requirements u2022 Associate or bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. u2022 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business-to-business collections or accounts receivable within a high-volume environment. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms. u2022 Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes effectively. u2022 Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in managing financial records. u2022 Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. u2022 Knowledge of commercial collections and billing processes is highly desirable.
