Public Safety Officer

Overview We are seeking a Public Safety Officer , sometimes referred to as a Hospital Security Officer or Healthcare Security Officer . The P ublic S afety O fficer will p erform a range of security duties including electronic surveillance and routine manual patrols to ensure the safety of the facility. The Public Safety Officer will c oordinate responses to incidents involving patients, staff, and visitors while enforcing policies and procedures fairly and consistently. The Public Safety Officer will c ollaborate with the Environment of Care Committee to support a multidisciplinary approach to safety and security at our hospital . This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed. Shiftu2019s Available: Variable Employment Type: Per Diem Hours: Variable Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: + Competitive compensation + Medical insurance benefit plan + 401K + Sick leave accrual Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): + Access Control and Patrols: m onitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to deter theft, violence, or unsafe behavior + Emergency Response: r espond to emergency codes and assist with crowd control, evacuation, or containment as needed + De-escalation and Conflict Management : i ntervene in disruptive situations using de-escalation techniques to calm agitated patients or visitors, often in collaboration with clinical staff + Patient and Visitor Assistance: e scort patients or visitors safely through the facility, provide directions, and assist with lost-and-found or personal property issues + Incident Documentation: w rite detailed reports on incidents, accidents, or safety hazards and report findings to supervisors or risk management Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 1. Experience in Healthcare security or related field preferred 2. State Guard Certification Registration Card 3. High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below): 1. State Driveru2019s license upon hire 2.
