We want your knowledge and expertise Job Summary and Qualifications A CT Tech, or Computed Tomography Technologist, performs CT scans, ensuring the highest level of customer service and image quality while managing the entire patient procedure. This involves preparing patients, which includes starting IVs for contrast administration and using the power injector, as well as retrieving necessary patient history and orders. The Technologist effectively communicates with patients, their families, physicians, and the radiologist, providing crucial signs and symptoms pertinent to the exam. They are responsible for coordinating patient flow, ensuring all daily exams are completed, maintaining equipment and departmental work areas, and upholding the principle of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to minimize radiation dose. The role requires the completion of all documentation and contribution to after-hour coverage through on-call rotations, all while promoting quality improvement initiatives. What You Will Do In This Role: + You will perform CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care. + You will take patient history and retrieve any necessary orders or prior images. + You will provide patient history, signs, and symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist. + You will appropriately complete documentation. + You will coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete. + You will support ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles. + You will inform patients about procedures and answer questions. + You will interact and professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and family members. + You will start IVs for contrast administration. + You will use the power injector. + You will prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies. + You will support and participate in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans. + You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served. + You will perform other duties as assigned. What Qualifications You Will Need: + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + (ARRT-CT) Computed Tomography + (ARRT-R) Radiography + Associate Degree + One year of post-graduate experience preferred but not required TriStar Centennial Medical Center is a 740+ bed comprehensive facility.
