Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Central Sterile Service Technician I or II for a Full Time, second shift role in Charlottesville, VAHours are primarily from 230PM to 11PM with rotating weekends.Sign on bonus up to $5,000 available for qualified candidates The Central Sterile Services Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel.About the department: Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures. EducationHigh School Graduate or equivalent requiredCertification/LicensureBLS within 90 days of hire RequiredCertified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferredExperience2 years of related experience preferredAbility to transition between tasks efficiently requiredTeam work and communication skills requiredEVS, Acute hospital experience or Hospital inventory experience, preferred.
