Job Description

COOK The cook’s main duties are to plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items while complying with brand standards and company policies as well as state and local sanitation laws. The following reflects the essential job duties but does not restrict tasks that may be assigned. Duties of this job may be changed at management’s discretion.Duties include:Ensure the proper and efficient preparation of all foods, ensuring that quality and quantity standards are metMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standardsMaintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipmentMaintain positive guest relations at all timesMaintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areasMaintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirementsMeet with manager and staff to review assignments, changes and anticipated business levelMaintain accurate inventory of all itemsDevelop good relationship with vendors/suppliersSet up work station with required tools, equipment and suppliesStart prep work on items needed for the particular menu of the dayCheck POS printer at work station to ensure it is in working workerPrepare all menu items following recipes and yield guideCommunicate any assistance needed during busy periodsMaintain proper storage procedures as specified by health department and hotel requirementsMinimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food costBreakdown work station and complete closing duties such as returning food items to proper storage areas, rotating all returned product, label all items, clean up and wipe down all food prep areas, equipment and utensilsCheck with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.Check the working condition of equipment and report to supervisor all unsafe or malfunctioning equipmentKnows all safety and emergency proceduresMaintains awareness of all ratesCommunicates with the previous and following shiftsEnsures compliance with energy conservation and job safety requirementsEnsure efficient completion of daily assignments in a timely mannerReport all safety concerns to managementAttend and participate in all mandatory trainings and meetingsFlexible with schedule and assignmentsMaintain effective performance under pressureMay perform similar duties as requested by supervisorRequirements:Food Handler’s License or CertificationMust be able to use computer systemExcellent customer service skillsAbility to work independently and with othersExcellent communication skillsAbility to give and follow verbal and written instructionsAttention to detailAbility to multi taskDisplays good initiativePI64a74849931b-30511-34978695
