Maintenance Worker

Our client, a college in the area, is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to join their team. As a member of the Facilities Department, you will play a key role in maintaining the campus grounds, buildings, and systems.As a General Maintenance Worker, you will be part of the Facilities Department supporting campus operations. The ideal candidate will have basic maintenance knowledge, hands-on problem-solving skills, and reliability, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title:General Maintenance Worker Location:Houghton, NY Pay Range:$16.75/hour Shift: Monday-Friday; 7:00am-3:30pm What’s the Job? Fix and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings Perform painting, flooring repairs, and general facility upkeep Work on plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning, and heating systems Support emergency response efforts as needed Ensure a safe and well-functioning environment for students, staff, and visitors What’s Needed? Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or facilities preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Reliability and flexibility to assist with emergencies when called upon What’s in it for me?
