This role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring staff, managing daily workflow, and maintaining equipment standards.Education Qualifications40 hours of documented training in topics specific to mammography, FDA 900.12(a)(2)(ii), and 15 CEU credits specific to mammography in the last 36 month period, according to FDA 900.12(a)(2)(iii) and (iv). Maintains CEU’s for certification.Demonstrates an openness to change through suggestions and constructive criticism.Understands and practices patient confidentiality.Licenses and CertificationsRadiography - ARRT RequiredLicensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) - KSBHA RequiredMammography - ARRT PreferredBasic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.What you will doMoves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures. Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
