Remote Platform Operations Engineer (PaaS)

Description and Requirements About the PositionLenovo's Solutions & Services Group (SSG) isa business unit focused on delivering end-to-end IT solutions and combines Lenovo's hardware and software expertise to offer services like attached services, managed services, and "as a Service" (AaS) aims to help customers achieve their business outcomes by integrating various IT solutions and optimizing their technology investments. In the Platform Operations Engineer role, you will be responsible for daily operations and maintenance of our Kubernetes clusters as part of our Platform as a Service offering. You will support DevOps tooling, CI/CD processes, our repositories and build tools. This position will be remote and will have CST working hours. There may also be quarterly travel to our office in downtown Chicago.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the daily operations and monitoring of Kubernetes clusters.Responsible for handling faults and supporting issue resolution.Participate in the building and management of container images and assist in the deployment and management of cloud-native applications on the platform.Assist in the management and maintenance of the DevOps toolchain.Assist in the development and maintenance of automation scripts.Assist in platform security hardening.Basic Qualifications3+ years of Experience with deployment, management, maintenance, and tuning of Kubernetes clusters in public cloud environments.3+ years of Experience with LinuxOS.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required.Preferred Qualifications3+ years of Kubernetes Experience in private cloud and public cloud environments.1-2 years of Experience working with DevOps toolchains with Jira, Jenkins/Argo, Helm, Ansible.1-2 years of Experience working cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift).1-2 years of Experience working in IT Operations.Hands-on with Linux system management and network configuration.Familiar with cloud-native monitoring and logging tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.Proficiency with Python, Go and Shell.Solid cross-functional collaboration skills; able to align and communicate with business users and stakeholders across different levels.Cultural Competency working across Chinese, American, Desi, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact.CKA Certification or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is a plus.Bilingual Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.The base salary budgeted range for this position is $65-75k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. This position will be remote and have CST working hours.
