Wash/Disinfect CrewFull Time - HourlyAt Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package. The base hiring pay for this role is$20.30per hour.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)Job ResponsibilitiesTo wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner, ensuring that all company policies are followedAssist all support areas of breeder productionWork occasional weekends washing unless otherwise instructedPerform repairs, maintenance on equipment, and construction on projects as assigned by supervisorFollow sanitation and isolation procedures using tracking patternsFollow safety policies and procedures as recommendedCommunicate with supervisor on a regular basis to receive work orders as neededOther duties as assigned by supervisorAssist on vaccinations and insemination occasionally when not washingMinimum QualificationsBasic math skills/able to read and write at 4th grade levelAble to work scheduled weekends and holidaysSupply reliable transportation for travel to work sites and meet all sanitation requirementsCannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)Able to work in a smoke free environment/Must be 21 yrs. old and able to obtain a Medical CardMust possess a valid driver's license & able to meet JOTS driving qualificationsPHYSICAL: Work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protectionFacial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal-no beardsTwisting/stooping/bending/squat/reach while handling turkeys/fee/letter/equipment 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. from occasionally to a frequent basisAble to work on uneven surfacesPreferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious animal husbandry experience and/or a farm background (two years)Bobcat tractor experienceAble to use and operate high pressure washerSmall engine/pump repair experienceAble to operate a scissor liftCompetitive pay with pay increasesYou will be trained on all equipment and procedures to prepare you for your roleExtraordinary benefit package including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage.
