JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The Material Handler at Amsted Rail, Griffin Wheel is responsible for efficiently managing the flow of materials within our foundry operations. This role supports the production process by ensuring that materials are available where and when they are needed, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing goals. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Receive, store, and distribute materials and products within the facility. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks. Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials. Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents. Assist in loading and unloading trucks and containers. Perform routine maintenance on material handling equipment. Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes. JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Required Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills for inventory management. Certifications: Forklift certification preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in material handling. KEY CHALLENGES Managing the physical demands of material handling in a foundry setting. Ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
