Job Description

The Development Associate provides organizational and administrative support to the Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy unit of 92NY’s Development department. The ideal candidate will be well organized, responsible, detail-oriented, creative and bring a high level of energy to this role. In addition to administrative support, the Development Associate will be responsible for a modest portfolio of foundation and corporate prospects and donors.Provide administrative support for the team, including the Vice President, Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy and Associate Director, Institutional GivingCompose general correspondence, including all acknowledgement letters.Assist in drafting fundraising materials, including letters of inquiry, proposals and reports.Proofread and edit proposals and reports; compile proposal and report packages; and additional correspondence as required.Assist in cultivation and stewardship of institutional prospects and funders.Conduct prospect research (training will be provided).Work with the team on data collection and spreadsheets.Process gifts and generate Tessitura reports and invitation and mailing lists (training will be provided).Field calls from donors/patrons calling the main office line. Act as a front line for donors and prospect inquiries.Assist in ticketing services for donors, including tracking and fulfilling requests.Assist at 92NY special events, as needed.B.A. Required1-3 years of experience in an office setting, preferably in a development office.Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and an articulate telephone manner.Excellent organizational skills, including self-management of work schedule; ability to multi-task; and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Effective team worker who can demonstrate a collaborative approach when working with colleagues.Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.Previous Tessitura and Salesforce experience a plus.40 hours/week; Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.This position is approved to utilize a hybrid working model which is subject to change in the future.Application InstructionsInterested applicants should forward a resume and a cover letter with salary requirements.Due to the high volume of applications that we receive, we are only able to contact those applicants whose experience most aligns with the position profile.Compensation Range$58,000 - $62,000The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
