Research Engineer II Location TX - San Antonio Job Code 12834 # of openings 1 Apply Now ( The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Research Engineer II to provide research support administration services for our government customer in San Antonio, TX. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: + Resolve novel systems and identify engineering problems which require the development of new techniques or the innovative application of new state-of-the-art technology. + Provides support in professional biomedical engineering functions involving medical research practices to support the laboratoryu2019s efforts. + Coordinate all design phases with contractor personnel (lab/project managers, other engineers, and technical support personnel). + Direct the integration, fabrication, and functional testing of systems after installation to ensure that performance meets specifications and protocol requirements. + Sets up, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment in accordance with research protocols. + Researches and collects data through complex laboratory/scientific experiments, techniques, and procedures. + Assists in the maintenance of a clean and operational lab space. + Assists in ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies for research. + Compiles and analyzes data using scientific or statistical techniques. + Assists with writing and editing material for publication and presentation. + Reports on status of research activities. + Routes administrative paperwork related to scientific products. + Maintains data and records securely, including the use of an assigned laboratory notebook. + Develop models of fluid flow in air and liquid systems. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bacheloru2019s degree plus 2 yearsu2019 related experience, or a masteru2019s degree plus demonstrable experience. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation); or equivalent.
