This highly regarded community-focused hospital is seeking a Patient Safety Nurse Manager to lead a high-impact safety and medical staff services program. The Patient Safety Nurse Manager role is ideal for an experienced RN leader who thrives on building high-reliability systems, mentoring teams, and elevating outcomes across the continuum of care.The Patient Safety Nurse Manager will join a Joint Commission-accredited acute-care hospital with approximately 70 inpatient beds and a board-governed structure that emphasizes transparency, accountability, and community service. A robust network of outpatient clinics supports seamless transitions of care where the Patient Safety Nurse Manager will help standardize practices and elevate safety culture.Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer (or Director of Quality & Patient Safety), the Patient Safety Nurse Manager provides leadership to Patient Safety Services and Medical Staff Services. This role oversees safety specialists and medical staff services professionals responsible for credentialing and privileging, and partners closely with clinical educators to align competencies. The Patient Safety Nurse Manager collaborates with nursing leadership, medical staff officers, risk management, infection prevention, pharmacy, case management, compliance/legal, and frontline teams to drive shared safety goals.Leading a collaborative, mission-driven team, the Patient Safety Nurse Manager stewards the safety event reporting system, proactive risk assessments, safety huddles, and rounding, while guiding end-to-end credentialing and privileging for an engaged medical staff. Energy on the team is supportive and solutions-focused, interfacing with inpatient units, procedural areas, and multispecialty clinics. The Patient Safety Nurse Manager partners with physicians, APPs, and quality leaders to build reliable processes and responsive service that clinicians trust.The Patient Safety Nurse Manager advances clinical excellence by coaching leaders on high-reliability practices, just culture, and trauma-informed care; leading RCA2 investigations and FMEAs; and developing targeted education to strengthen competencies. On the administrative side, the Patient Safety Nurse Manager drives the Quality Management System (QMS), leads policy governance, oversees survey readiness for CMS/Joint Commission, and facilitates organization-wide improvement initiatives. This role also provides leadership for Medical Staff Services, including credentialing, privileging, primary source verification, OPPE/FPPE, bylaws alignment, and performance dashboards, while managing staffing, budgeting, and workflow optimization.Outside of work, the Patient Safety Nurse Manager will enjoy a coastal Pacific Northwest lifestyle with evergreen forests, mountain vistas, and a dramatic shoreline—ideal for hiking, kayaking, cycling, and beachcombing ?.
