The Anesthesia Advanced Practice Provider (CRNA or Anesthesiologist Assistant) functions as an integral member of the anesthesia care team and practices under the medical direction of anesthesiologists to provide safe, high-quality, and patient-centered anesthesia services. The provider delivers care to patients across all acuity levels in a variety of clinical settings, including surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESAbility to perform clinically as part of an anesthesia care teamAbility to operate, use, and interpret data from a wide variety of equipment to perform anesthesia care as well as necessary perioperative or operating room care to support the safety and well-being of the patient while they are under the direct care of the CRNA or PA-AAEffective verbal and written communication skills are required to collaborate with various clinical staff and other disciplinesAbility to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) servedAbility to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needsKnowledge of infection prevention and control techniquesAbility to maintain confidential recordsAbility to implement and adhere to facility policies and procedureFacilitate the timely delivery of care and efficient function of the ORMINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA):Graduation from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (or its predecessor)ORAnesthesiologist Assistant (AA): Master’s degree in Anesthesia from an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant programMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Applicants at all experience levels are encouraged to apply.This position is open to new graduates who demonstrate a commitment to learning, professional growth, and delivering high-quality patient care within a collaborative team environment.MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: For CRNAs: Current Georgia CRNA license (or eligible and willing to obtain Georgia licensure) Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)ORFor Anesthesiologist Assistants: Current Georgia Anesthesiologist Assistant license (or eligible and willing to obtain Georgia licensure) Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredPiedmont Augusta Hospital
