Job Description

The position of Data Analyst - Hearing Office operates with a high level of expertise within the Hearing Office in the Attendance and Discipline Department, focusing on student discipline data. The incumbent is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting discipline-related data to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement efforts across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of data analytics principles, educational discipline frameworks, and the practical application of data to inform policy, interventions, and performance outcomes.Designs and implements data-driven solutions to address complex discipline-related challenges, applying creativity, analytical rigor, and a deep understanding of student behavior and performance metrics.Utilizes tools such as Power BI, Excel, and PowerSchool to manage and visualize data effectively.Analyzes discipline data using statistical techniques to generate actionable insights.Produces regular reports and dashboards that identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in student behavior, school-level discipline practices, and district-wide interventions.Communicates findings using different platforms to support stakeholder engagement.Collaborates with leadership and stakeholders to define the scope and objectives of data analyses. May lead data projects or cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives related to student discipline, equity, and behavioral support systems.Supports the analytical agenda of the Discipline Department by identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), maintaining discipline data dashboards, and ensuring timely review of metrics aligned with district priorities, including compliance with RTI2B (Response to Behavior and Intervention) and MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports)Solves complex data problems and recommends innovative solutions to improve discipline processes, equity outcomes, and student support systems. Ensures alignment of data practices with district goals, legal standards, and ethical guidelines.Prepares and maintains comprehensive reports and documentation, including statistical summaries, visualizations, and narrative analyses. Conducts research and compiles data to support audits, program evaluations, and policy development, leveraging tools such as Excel, Power BI, and PowerSchool for data extraction and reporting.Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to support the district’s mission of fostering safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely related field PLUS an additional three (3) years of related experience; for a total education/experience of seven (7) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).Degree Equivalency Formula:Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
