Serco is seeking a Director of Business Finance with program financial management skills to lead a team of financial analysts. This role calls for a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. This position is a Hybrid/Telework opportunity with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Office is located Herndon, and reports to our VP Business Finance. If you consistently demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new information you will thrive in this position.The Director of Business Finance is responsible for the management of finance employees involved in program financial management and analysis, monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, and process improvement. You will be responsible for providing business guidance to Operational Leaders to achieve financial and operational goals, as well as recommending actions to improve progress and performance.As the leader of the finance organization for this business unit, the Director of Business Finance will be responsible for oversight of all aspects of operational finance for their supported program(s). The ideal candidate will have a strong management and finance control background with experience in government contracting.In this role you will:Responsible for providing lead level financial support to a Business Segment of Program Managers in the preparation and analysis of complex project financial data and business-related tasksLead month-end financial close to include revenue recognition, cost accruals and inventory reconciliationProvide pricing strategy and cost volume support / development for new business opportunities in Business Segment.Partner with program manager(s) to develop and support monthly and annual program financial forecast.Prepare financial presentations and reports in a professional organized mannerLiaison between operations and other administrative support organizations on financial issues. Interfaces with subcontractors, vendors, and customers as required.Support accounts receivable as required during the billing processing. Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, working with Finance, Contracts, Accounting and PMO to resolve issues in a timely manner.Provide cost, schedule and funding planning, reporting, monitoring and analysis support to Program Managers including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and development of time-phased budgets and schedules.Prepare program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) and meet deadlines for submission requirements. Ensure program revenue and profit is recorded in compliance with the EAC.Identify project risks and opportunities and provide analytical contribution in working resolution with PM, Contracts, Procurement and Finance/Accounting.Be responsible for the management of the finance employees involved in program control and analysis. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and discipline of assigned employees.Direct, implement, and administer formal aspects of financial management for their team in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations.
