Sr. Public Tax Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Public Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lafayette, California for tax season. In this role, you will handle a variety of tax and accounting responsibilities, including preparing tax returns for High-Net-Worth individuals, businesses, and trusts, as well as managing year-end financial reporting. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools like Lacerte and QuickBooks while contributing to the success of our services firm. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare accurate and comprehensive tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts. u2022 Conduct general accounting tasks, including write-up work and maintaining financial records. u2022 Utilize Lacerte Tax Software and QuickBooks to manage financial data and ensure compliance. u2022 Generate year-end balance sheets and income statements for reporting purposes. u2022 Perform financial statement preparation, including detailed analysis and reconciliation. u2022 Review and finalize year-end closings to ensure accuracy and completeness. u2022 Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all accounting and tax-related activities. u2022 Collaborate with clients to address tax-related inquiries and provide expert guidance. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software with demonstrated experience. u2022 Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. u2022 Expertise in year-end closings and financial statement preparation. u2022 Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. u2022 Prior experience preparing tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts. u2022 Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data effectively. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration.
