Assistant Manager - Local Hardware Store We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at a local hardware store. The ideal candidate will be well versed in various aspects of construction, including plumbing, electrical, and pressure-treated wood. This role supports daily store operations, provides expert customer assistance, and helps lead the team to ensure an efficient, customer-focused environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures and inventory management Provide expert product knowledge and guidance to customers across plumbing, electrical, lumber, hardware, and related construction materials Support and lead store associates to maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly environment Handle customer inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high levels of satisfaction Assist with ordering, stocking, merchandising, and maintaining accurate inventory Uphold safety and compliance standards within the store Step in for the Store Manager as needed Qualifications: Previous hardware store or construction-related retail experience required Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, lumber/pressure-treated wood, and general construction materials Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Reliable, professional, and able to work a flexible schedule as needed Compensation: Pay is based on experience.
