Personal Care Assistant (PCA) A Chance To Grow (ACTG) is a mission-driven, therapist-led non-profit based in Northeast Minneapolis. As part of our Home-Based Services team, you ll work directly in the home of an individual with a disability. You will build meaningful, long-term connections while helping them reach their highest level of independence and well-being. This role is ideal for someone who values compassion, consistency, and the opportunity to truly see the impact of their care over time. It is a great opportunity for someone continuing their education who would like to grow skills in the healthcare field. Position type: Part-Time: Expected Hours 10-20 hours per week in the afternoon/evenings Pay range: $18.00-$22.50 based on experience in MN PCA Program Benefits: ACTG offers employer subsidized Medical, employer paid Life and AD&D, in addition to other benefits including 401(k), PTO, Holiday Pay, Dental, and Vision to employees who work 30 or more hours per week. ACTG also complies with ESST regulations. Location: In client home, located in Northeast area of Minneapolis, MN Description of responsibilities: Provide 1:1 supervision, support, and engagement to a child with behavioral and developmental needs Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, toileting, eating, and hygiene Implement and follow behavioral support strategies as outlined in the care plan Offer redirection, positive reinforcement, and emotional support throughout daily routines Support mobility and physical activities safely and effectively Help with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and organizing child-related tasks Accompany the child to appointments, school, or community activities as needed Document care and progress accurately using Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, supervising staff, and care team members Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to HIPAA standards Experience: PCA/CFSS Certification through MN Department of Human Services (required; can be obtained online for free) Reliable transportation and valid driver s license (required) Ability to follow a client care plan and report changes in condition (required) Ability to pass a background check (required) Direct caregiving or PCA experience (preferred) Experience assisting with ADLs such as transfers, bathing, and feeding (preferred) Working with individuals with disabilities, chronic conditions, or behavioral needs (preferred) Experience documenting care or using EVV systems (trainable) Experience communicating with healthcare professionals and families (trainable) Skills: Compassionate and client-centered approach (required) Clear communication and active listening (required) Time management and attention to detail (trainable) Ability to follow a care plan and recognize changes in condition (required) Problem-solving and adaptability in dynamic care settings (trainable) Professionalism and confidentiality awareness (required) How to apply: Complete the General Application on the A Chance To Grow employment page All applicants will receive an acknowledgment confirming receipt of their application.
