SGML Technical Writer Job Category: Engineering and Technical Support Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: None Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US CACI is seeking an experienced USAF Technical Writer to provide support CACIu2019s Aerospace Solutions Group in San Antonio, TX. What Youu2019ll Get to Do: u2022 Organizes information and oversees writing assignments according to established graphic standards while maintaining correct order, clarity, conciseness, style, terminology, and grammar for USAF technical orders and other documentation. u2022 Conducts extensive research on the subject matter including interviewing and observing subject matter experts, researching journals, on-line sources, and other substantive source material to write scientific and technical materials. u2022 Reviews documentation and interfaces with appropriate personnel to make certain technical literature is current and accurate in all published hard copy and electronic media. u2022 Interfaces with illustrators, photographers, print and web designers, artists, and other support personnel as required to complete assignments. u2022 Oversees the editing, composition, production, and delivery in accordance with applicable specifications, standards, and other requirements. u2022 Establishes guidelines and standards for text and graphics. u2022 Conducts research on the subject matter including interviewing and observing subject matter experts, researching journals, on-line sources, and other substantive source material to write scientific and technical materials. u2022 Manages the coordination of ancillary services and interdepartmental activities required for publication, preparation, and delivery. u2022 Produces publications using computerized composition and text-management systems. u2022 Maintains constantly high qualitative and quantitative output standards to ensure that quality publications are produced. u2022 Completes all projects within the established schedules and authorized funding. u2022 Establishes and complies with all applicable specifications, standards, and other project constraints. u2022 Establishes and achieves annual quality and productivity goals. Youu2019ll Bring These Qualifications: u2022 US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance. u2022 Secret clearance eligible u2022 Experience with MIL-DTL-87929 Work Package Manuals in SGML. u2022 Able to create and update Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML). u2022 Advanced ability to use MS Word (365) and MS Power Point (365) to create a variety of documents, presentations, and flyers using the following skills: Formatting options (including layout designing and editing, table of content creation): Creating efficient standardized templates, forms, tables: Creation and incorporation of graphics u2022 Strong expertise in technical writing, editing, technical drawing, composition, and quality assurance to accomplish a wide variety of technical data publishing efforts. u2022 Experience with USAF change pages, supplement pages, TCTO pages, illustrated parts breakdowns, as well as commercial manuals. u2022 Able to compile and update engineering source data (graphics and text) to prepare for publishing USAF specified technical manual. These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: u2022 Best candidates will have experience with S1000D and MIL-DTL-87929 Work Package Manuals u2022 Proficient with XML u2022 Proficient with MS Office applications, SharePoint, Illustrator, Photoshop. u2022 Ability to create and modify illustrations u2022 Development of automated test systems (ATE) and test program sets (TPS) for aircraft electrical, mechanical, avionics, and engine systems u2022 Experience with USG proposal response writing u2022 Knowledge and use of ISO 9001, AS9100 or CMMI quality process standards - ________________________________________________________________________________________ What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.
