All employees are expected to follow safe work practices, as well as adhere to company and client worksite safety policies and proceduresFollow safe work practices and company and client work site policiesReads and understands splice records and can effectively splice fibers in accordance with those recordsAssist the project team with installation activities as neededTerminate and Breakout outside fiberPull and splice OSP high-count fiber optic cablesProactively maintain job site organization and basic housekeepingOrganize materials, tools, and equipment, collect debris, and ensure hazardous conditions are promptly addressedRead and interpret floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheetsKnow about the different materials and methodologies involved with the installation of a structured cabling systemFurcate large strand count fiber(3456-6912)Perform break fixes, troubleshoot, and read splice records and blueprintsUnderstand a task and ask relevant questions before beginning to complete itMaintain compliance with customer security requirementsExhibit and maintain professional appearance and behaviorThis position is generally expected to require minimal overnight travel (5%) in certain regions, could require frequent (50%+) overnight and extended out-of-town travel in othersThe individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2Additional Responsibilities: As identified and assignedHigh School Diploma or GED requiredOSHA 30 within first 2 weeks in roleBICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification preferred. Must be earned once hired, (to qualify for Tech III)3+ years work experience in Structured Cabling, Installing, Terminating, and SplicingMinimum 1 year work experience in a fiber splicing role or industry related constructionSingle and Ribbon Fiber splicing experience requiredExperience with ISP and OSPRead, write, and understand EnglishAble to distinguish color codes with the ability to read blueprints and schematicsBasic computer skills and knowledge of Windows based programsEXFO OTDR knowledge and EXFO OLTS testing knowledgeAbility to listen carefully to and follow instructionsDemonstrated ability to be proactive, dependable and exercise efficient time management at the jobsiteDemonstrate accountability for safety, quality, and productivityExhibit a positive attitudeSolid team playerHigh attention to detail with demonstrated ability to source and follow standardsAbility to meet deadlinesWillingness to work days, nights and weekends as project requiresSelf-motivated with excellent work ethicAbility to work effectively in versatile work environmentsCompetitive payOpportunities for professional development and career growthBICSI Training FacilitiesA supportive and inclusive work environmentHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysThe standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
