Part-Time Firefighter

Job Posting: Part-Time FirefighterThe City Fire Department is seeking motivated Part-Time Firefighters to support daily staffing and serve alongside our full-time crews. This paid, non-benefitted position allows up to 999 hours of work annually.Position to begin in January 2026.Responsibilities:Respond to emergencies and perform firefighting, rescue, and EMS support dutiesMaintain monthly training and readiness requirementsWork 12-24 hour shifts as scheduled, primarily at Station 2Follow department policies, safety standards, and supervision from company officersMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentValid drivers licenseAbility to pass a physical ability test and background/medical screeningsFirefighter I (within 6 months of hire)HazMat Awareness/OperationsEMT certification preferredSchedule & Pay:Up to 96 hours per pay period / 999 hours per yearHourly compensation starting at $15.17/hour (Recruit or Firefighter grade based on certifications)This job description does not exclusively outline the duties expected of the employee in this role.
