Description Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.We are seeking aFull-Time Program Specialist inManhattan, NY. The Program Specialist is responsible for ensuring Community Options, Inc. (COI) is in compliance with all aspects and levels of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards within the realm of billing. This person will collect Medicaid reimbursements by resolving discrepancies, adjusting claims, preparing reports, monitoring collections, and providing excellent customer service to internal staff and designated payers.Starting pay is $ 31.25/per hourResponsibilitiesProcess initial claims from Therap or other applicable billing platforms by the process of examining, calculating, and or adjusting claimsSubmit claims to payers manually or electronicallyMaintain, develop, and update essential billing recordsMonitor filing deadlines for each designated payer and ensure processing is completed in that timeframeGather both private and Medicaid billing information by reviewing consumer recordsPrepare progress reports for individuals’ immediate support group, including their family and/or guardian, staff, employment specialist, case manager, and other professionalsServe as an active member of an individuals’ Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT), which includes involvement in Individual Habilitation Plan developmentSubmit monthly written reports to the appropriate individuals outlining operational status, progress, and concernsAdditional tasks and responsibilities may be assignedEmployee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigationEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testingMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree with one year of related experience; OR high school diploma or GED with three years of related experienceValid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelinesTeam-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsWhy Community Options?Competitive Insurance Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)Paid Holidays—Including a Birthday HolidayGenerous PTOEmployee Incentive & Discount Programs403b Retirement PlanIncredible career growth opportunitiesPlease Visit Our Website to Complete an Online Application!Community Options is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V#IND-NY
