We foster a culture that supports professional development, personal growth, and opportunities for PETITIVE PAY & BENEFITSBenefits Effective Day 1Med, Den, Vision, 401k (4% match), Annual Retirement Contribution (2%), Life & AD&DPaid VacationTuition Assistance ProgramFitness Reimbursement ProgramOpportunity for AdvancementSUMMARYThis position is responsible for the management of the Injection Molding department in the effort to meet operational key performance indicators related to safety, quality and productive efficiency while meeting customer service needs, implementing continuous improvement plans, successfully coaching and promoting individual talent as well as other priorities as set forth by the Operations Manager.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environmentManage day-to-day operations of a 24/7 production operation providing direction to achieve site objectivesMaintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and proceduresFacilitate safety training and complete all incident investigations and reportingManage operational metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce costs, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer serviceDevelop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures with consistency across all shiftsIdentify opportunities and help provide support for resolution.Set clear expectations and maintain accountabilityDrive lean management methodology implementation across departmentTrack staffing requirements and hire new employees as neededDevelop competencies and skills of direct reports and support training initiativesEnsure optimum utilization of manpower and equipment to manage efficient workflowDelegate responsibility and recognize, develop, train and utilize talents and capabilities of all shift personnelPartner with engineering, maintenance and quality departments to ensure all quality standards, practices, testing and metrics are administered and adhered to and prioritize sequence of actionsDrive continuous improvement initiatives such as scrap reduction initiatives and quality/innovationsSuccessfully complete professional development initiatives and promote developmental opportunities to shift personnelSpearhead projects, as needed and/or assigned, that solve current business problems and /or directly contribute to long-term business objectivesAvailable on call 24/7 and during emergency situationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in related field of study with emphasis on technical competenciesMinimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, plastics preferredKnowledge and experience in material control, engineering, quality and maintenanceSolid understanding of manufacturing processes and technologiesExperience using ERP/MRP systemsKnowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (TPM, WCM, LEAN)Recognized leader who leads by exampleStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upwardly to top management and downward to a wide range of audiencesResults driven with ability to manage change while creating a positive environmentAbility to remain calm and focused in stressful situationsAbility to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficientlyProficiency in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to make effective decisionsExcel in planning, executing and managing projectsExperience may be considered equivalent if experience demonstrates increased depth and breadth of responsibilityPHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position has a transitioning work environment. Office/computer, manufacturing plant and outdoor environments are normal. The noise level in the plant environment is usually moderate. Half of the time is spent in an office, and half on the production floor.
