SDA Data Fusion Network Engineer

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the US Space Force mission to defend National Security Interests in Space as a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Data Fusion Network Engineer on the Space Data Fusion Team of System Delta 85’s Mission Integration Branch (SSC SYD 85/BNN). SYD 85 is the U.S. Space Force organization responsible for developing and delivering resilient space capabilities supporting Battle Management, Command, Control, Communication, and Space Intelligence (BMC3I). SYD 85 synchronizes acquisition efforts for critical space system capabilities and works together with Combat Forces Command (CFC) Mission Deltas to improve mission readiness. SYD 85’s missions are foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy and act as force multipliers in times of conflict. The Sensor Data Fusion branch is executing sensor communication upgrades and system of systems integration and automation projects to prototype and field the next-generation SDA network and command and control systems.This is a full-time position at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road with occasional work at Peterson SFB and Schriever SFB in Colorado Springs, CO and the opportunity to telework 1 day per week at the discretion of the Government.Odyssey Systems provides support to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed laterally with USSF SSC/SZGdepot and development contractors and with SDA stakeholders.An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government Program Office. As anSDA Data Fusion Network Engineer, you will work closely with the Government Program Manager and provide Advisory and Assistance Services supportperforming engineering tasks, research, studies, and analysis that provide technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex sensor networks. You will make recommendations and advise on system development, improvements, optimization, and support efforts and initiatives includingcontractual oversight for multiple small- to mid-sized contracts developing and fielding war fighting systems. Duties include, but are not limited to: Apply network architecture development and engineering knowledge and experience to advise the Government Program Management OfficeIdentify communication protocol and schema requirements for seamless data transmission between a globally distributed network of sensorsAuthor Application Programming Interface (API) requirements in support of machine-to-machine autonomous sensor managementImplement cybersecurity, information assurance, and risk management practices and produce artifacts to aid in the accreditation and sustainment of DoD networkSupport Security Impact Assessment (SIA) activities and balance accreditation risk with capability delivery requirementsInterface with industry, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), and other government organizations (DoD and the Intelligence Community) to bring state-of-the-art network capabilities into the SDA enterprise and provide technical implementation guidanceWork proactively with the government to contribute technically sound and practical advice to the customers about SDA network infrastructure and architecture, and in developing an integration/deployment frameworkSupport evaluation and validation of network systems, including development of criteria and proceduresParticipate in requirements development to ensure requirements are verifiable; coordinate on test plan development and other verification activities with SSC/SZG contractors and stakeholdersProvide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of associated engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).Assist in developing requirements, drafting, and revising solicitation documents including Statements of Work (SOWs), and drafting Request for Proposal (RFP) documentationEvaluate proposals; provide analysis scoring vendor proposals against requirements and solicitation-documented evaluation criteriaParticipate in trade studies to support selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/system deliverySupport development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenarios used to conduct software/hardware network system integration testingReview and provide comments/input to the development of overarching system design documentation to include technical requirements documents (TRD); capability description documents (CDD); capability production documents (CPD); interface control documents (ICDs); and System SpecificationsIdentify and track development and sustainment risks in support of Government activities; develop and execute technology insertion and risk reduction strategies, studies, and recommendations to mitigate identified risk conditionsCoordinate and lead resolution of system issues and deficiencies with prime contractors, depot contractors, and other support contractorsProvide relevant input to acquisition planning activities, upgrades, modifications, and studies, interface with stakeholders, contractor personnel, and product integratorsSupport the Government’s planning, acquisition, modification, and execution of multiple contractsTravel to CONUS and OCONUS locations at the request of the GovernmentOther duties as required/requested by the Government within the constraints of the S3 contractCitizenship: Must be a US CitizenMinimum Required Qualifications:Clearance:Active Secret clearance, eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearanceEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related disciplineYears of Experience:4 years of directly relevant experience, 2 of which must be in the DoD,OR,MA/MS degree and 2 years of directly relevant DoD experienceOther Qualifications:Proficient in designing, configuring, and managing complex network architectures including LAN, WAN, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols, with focus on scalability, reliability, and securitySolid understanding of software design principles and methodologies, design patterns, and AGILE development practicesDemonstrated expertise in Integrated Safety and Security Instrumentation (ISSI systems, including design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshootingDemonstrated ability to interact and build effective relationships and teams with government customers, FFRDCs, and contractors, working in a highly dynamic environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication skills (both written and verbal) with internal and external clientsPreferred Qualifications:Clearance:Active DoD TS/SCI clearance, agreeable to polygraphEducation:Master'sdegree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related disciplineCertifications:PMP Certification;
