We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer with technical and project experience in the design of overhead HV transmission lines for power utilities and for the interconnection of renewables and data centers. In this role you will support the delivery of transmission line design projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for electric utilities, contractors and developers. This position can be worked out of our Houston, Dallas or Austin offices. Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following: + Perform engineering design and delivery of HV transmission line projects for power utilities and for the interconnection of renewables and data centers. + Prepare complete transmission line design packages including: design basis, plan and profiles drawings, structure framing and assembly drawings, phasing diagrams, guy and anchor details, grounding details, material specifications and data sheets, staking tables, stringing schedules, and bills of materials. + Perform studies and calculations including: conductor sizing and selection, electrical clearance calculations based on NESC, lightning performance and grounding. + Provide construction support and inter-disciplinary coordination. The skills + Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering from an accredited university. + Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. + Proven 4+ years experience in 15kV through 345kV overhead transmission design and PLS-CADD operation. + Demonstrated experience with the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-90 codes. + Knowledge regarding survey, easements, right-of-way, and permitting. + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as needed, to achieve agreed goals and results. + Excellent communication skills u2014 able to interact with clients, regulatory bodies, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ability to represent the company credibly. + Willingness to travel occasionally as needed (site visits, client/vendor meetings). + The ability to prioritize work effectively, manage deadlines and organization skills required for our rapidly changing environment. Options for alternative schedules and the ability to work outside of the office for a portion of your workweek are available Hiring Range u2013 The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Houston is $94,200 to $115,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
