LHB is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Public Works, Structures and Survey team. This mid-level role offers the opportunity to apply your structural engineering skills to a variety of diverse and impactful projects, contributing to the development and improvement of public and private infrastructure. The position will be based in either our Duluth or Minneapolis, MN offices, providing flexibility and the chance to collaborate with a talented team of professionals dedicated to excellence in engineering, architecture, and planning.Position SummaryThe responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:Providing structural engineering design for a variety of Building and Industrial Design projects. Potential projects could be from a variety of markets, including commercial, education, healthcare, government, and industrialWork effectively in a hybrid work environmentActively participate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetingsMeet client objectives and exceed their expectationsPrepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specificationsPerform construction site visits and field observations, review RFIs and submittalsPrepare written technical reportsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program5 years of prior structural engineering experience with design of concrete, structural steel, and/or masonry structuresProfessional Engineer licensure and the ability to become licensed in additional states upon requestValid driver’s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittentlyFamiliarity with AutoCAD and/or RevitDemonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and structural analysis software such as RISAUpon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulationsPreferred QualificationsExperienced using RevitPossess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skillsDesign experience with existing building modificationsDesign experience includes steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, timber, wood, and masonry structures, as well as specialized analysis and inspectionsVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing prioritiesAttention to detail, quality, and accuracyAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to work independentlyGood oral and written communication skills, including technical writing abilitySalary RangeThis position’s anticipated base salary range is $80,000 - $102,500 annually. (This position is eligible for year-end and profit-sharing bonuses.)
