Position Description: Welding Inspector Level IThis document outlines the requirements and responsibilities for a Level I Welding Inspector role, which includes Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) duties.Schedule: must be flexible to work either shiftMonday - FridayDay Shift: 6:00 AM - 5:30 PMNight Shift: 6:00 PM - 5:30 AMCompensation:$20-25 per hourPosition DetailsPosition Title: Welding Inspector Level IDepartment: WeldingStatus: Full-Time / Non-ExemptReporting Manager: Quality Assurance ManagerMajor Responsibilities/ActivitiesInspect welds according to all applicable codes/standards.UT (Ultrasonic Testing) all applicable joints and calibrate to codes and standards under supervision.Accurately gather required data for pass/fail.Answer quality/code questions for any employee.Research any questions related to quality, procedure, code, etc.Required SkillsMust have UT Level I certification/qualification.Able to write/type inspection information in English in an organized manner.Ability to use a computer and programs for logging and research.Possess the ability to communicate well in a team atmosphere.Possess the ability to work in a professional manner.Possess a working knowledge of code requirements and the ability to find answers.Must be a motivated self-starter and have integrity.Education/Experience RequirementMinimum of UT Level I training.Ability to pass Level I NDT to [Company Procedure].Preferred to have existing UT Level I NDT qualifications.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 50 lbs.Bending, Stooping, Kneeling, and Reaching.Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time.The ability to stand and walk in a shop environment for long periods of time.Ability to lift and move any equipment necessary to perform job duties.Able to work long hours.Able to work in hot or cold environments.
