A/V Technician II

Clearance Required: Ability to Obtain a Top Secret Education Required: HS/GED US Citizenship: Required The MIL Corporation is looking for an A/V Technician II to support one or more ongoing AV/Video Teleconferencing (VTC) projects for our government customers from our Lexington Park, MD location.The A/V Technician will work with Lead Technicians and Engineers to gain valuable experience in AV development technologies.This position currently requires an on-site schedule with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.ResponsibilitiesStage-2 testing of received A/V equipmentBuilds AV racks based of drawings provided by the engineering teamLabels communications infrastructure including cable, panels, patch cords and electronicsAssists tenured technicians with the installation and mounting of equipment, such as monitors, speakers, and microphones, to ceilings and walls in secure spacesAssists with the fabrication, termination, and installation of AV cablingAssists with the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various AV systemsAssists in troubleshooting and diagnosing existing AV systemsPerforms inventory management and record configuration information on installed equipment and software modulesTravelCandidates must be willing and able to travel CONUS, and OCONUS sites up to three weeks at a time. Total travel is approximately 30%.Required QualificationsPassion and motivation to learn A/V technology areas3+ years of experience performing testing and/or integration of electronics equipmentAbility to follow basic flow diagramsAbility to work in a team environmentGood verbal and written communications abilitiesExperience using MS Office productsMust be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limitsMust be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of timeMust be able to climb ladders and scaffoldingMust be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spacesMust maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordMust maintain a valid passportDesired QualificationsJ-STD Certification(s)Experience with testing fiber and/or copperAV certifications a plusCurrent Secret or above security clearanceEducationA high school diploma or GEDClearanceAll applicants for this position must be able to obtain and maintain aTop Secret/SCIclearance. Please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background pensationThe SCA (Service Contract Act) role at The MIL Corporation is subject to the regulations and guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor. As an SCA position, it is classified as a service contract and is subject to specific wage determinations and benefit requirements mandated by the government. The compensation and benefits for the SCA role at The MIL Corporation will be in accordance with the prevailing wage rates and benefits specified by the Department of Labor for the specific job classification and location. The current rate is $25.72 - $29.57 per hour.
