Job Description

This position allows for a hybrid arrangement with a mix of work from home and in the office.This is a design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.Participate in electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teamResponsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses and engineering reportsPrepare design inputs for drawing production including electrical site plans, power and lighting plans, one-line diagrams, assembly drawings, conduit and wire run schedules, wiring diagrams, elementary diagramsApply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and componentsProduce procurement specifications and construction specifications Attend project meetings and perform field walk downsProvide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineersMust be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.Essential skills and experience:Must be able to obtain US Government security clearanceBSEE or MSEE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program3+ years of progressive responsible experience in electrical engineering ideally in a nuclear environmentExperience with producing engineering designs for low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; experience with more than one type of system a plusExperience with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting HandbookProficiency or ability to learn load flow and/or arc flash analysis software such as ETAP and/or SKM Power ToolsProficiency or ability to learn lighting analysis software such as Visual and AGI32Valued but not required skills and experience:Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) CertificateDOE experience preferred; commercial or NavyField engineering and construction experienceAt Sargent & Lundy, we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
