Senior Software Test Engineer

CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Software Test Engineer with experience supporting projects for the Department of Defense (DoD). The Software Test Engineer must have a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of software test engineering principles, methods, and techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting requirements, developing testing strategies and implementing them in industry standard testing frameworks.Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCCS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-Review, document and understand system specifications and test cards provided by the customerDocument requirements for tools and systems using a Requirements Traceability MatrixReview requirements, specifications and technical design documents for completion and testabilityCreate test specifications based on the analysis of requirements, design, architecture, interface specificationsDevelop software verification and test plansPerform regression testing appropriate to application and system changesIdentify, investigate, report, and track defectsDevelop milestone rollup documentation packages including test plans, results, release notes, and known issuesBe able to identify anomalies, evaluate impact, record and communicate them to stakeholdersCreate process documentation detailing day-to-day activities of the team and general test principlesLead a team of manual and automation test engineers consisting of roughly 5-7 FTEsRequired Experience and Education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information technologyEight (8) years of professional experience, with two (2) years of C2 or ABM specific experienceProfessional Information Technology experience working in the QA/Development FieldHands on experience in engineering and/or testingEnd to end testing of applicationsWorking knowledge of testing methodologiesFamiliarity with Agile frameworksExpertise in documenting and testing requirements using industry standard techniquesExpertise in software QA methodologies, tools, and processesExpertise in test design and engineering (in any programming language)Expertise in test-plan documentation and executionKnowledge of web technologies and complex systemsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication, planning and organization/control skills; strong analytic and problem-solving skillsSecurity Requirements:Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain oneEqual Opportunity Employer:CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
