Construction Equipment Operator

Overview: Town of Mamakating Highway Department is seeking a Construction Equipment Operator. The Construction Equipment Operator responsibilities include Operates a truck in connection with the removal of snow, solid waste, and in the transportation of sand, stone, asphalt, and other materials and supplies. Operates a grader in connection with snow removal and force feed loader. Operates a snowplow, sander, wing and such equipment as loaders, backhoes, rollers, pavers, trucks 26,000 lb. G.V.W., and over, compactors, vacall, stone spreader, pick up broom, lift truck, snow blower, sweepers, chippers, road mowers, post drivers and crack sealers. Assists in such tasks as building and maintaining bridges, installing pipe and guiderails, etc.; Maintains assigned vehicles in a clean and operational condition, including running lights. May lead a sub crew. Performs manual tasks in connection with public works projects. Reports daily on the operating condition of assigned equipment. Operates brush chippers, compressors and other power equipment Performs other tasks as required. Skills required to perform job: Good knowledge of the operation of trucks, including snow removal, and other construction equipment Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions Ability to read simple plans Be industrious and dependable Mechanical aptitude Dependable Safety Conscious Requirements: Valid Commercial Driver's License with a B Classification (CDL-B).
